Goal-directed emotions nudge R&D investment decisions

R&D investment is a risk-taking decision for innovations. However, trade-off relationship exists between short-term profit and expenditure (present vs. future), because of the uncertainty involved. Choosing to invest in thus seen as propensity decision-makers, how perceive risk susceptible their cognitive system. This study included three empirical studies involving situations. It looked at goal-directed emotion worked decision-maker's propensity, this motivated construct her/his efforts investment. Study 1 showed that affect heuristic confirmed electrodermal activity (EDA) measure 2 revealed contributed emotion. The last experiment (Study 3) one's by emotion, modulated efforts. Finally, implications suggestions decision-makers with regard were discussed.
